Subaru Mitsubishi Jubilee Cup’s Dinner and Auction “Evening on the Green” May
29th at Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club
St. George – May 29th 2008 – The Foundation of Dixie Regional
Medical Center announced the 11th Annual Legacy Subaru Mitsubishi
Jubilee Cup will be held on May 29 and 30. The charity golf tournament and
auction is a benefit for The Foundation of Dixie Regional Medical Center.
The
donations raised at The Legacy Subaru Mitsubishi Jubilee Cup will support The
Foundation’s current key initiative: providing $2.3 million to help fund a
rotary wing air ambulance (Intermountain Life Flight) to be based at Dixie
Regional Medical Center.
According
to Terri Kane, administrator and CEO at Dixie Regional Medical Center, the need
for a helicopter is imperative for the hospital whose service area stretches
across northwestern Arizona, southeastern Nevada and southern Utah.
“A locally
based Life Flight Helicopter will greatly speed the delivery of life-saving
care to all residents in our region,” said Kane. “Everyone will benefit because
time saved means lives saved. Having the ability to provide care in-flight and
on-site, regardless of location, is key.
Our hope is to introduce this service in the next two or three years.”
Kirk
Bengtzen, president of Legacy Auto Group and Legacy Subaru Mitsubishi which has
been title sponsor of the golf tournament and auction for the past four years,
said “This year’s initiative is exceptionally poignant for all of us. We all
have friends and family who have been critically ill or injured at some point
so we all understand that the best chance of survival and recovery is with a
Life Flight Helicopter based in our southern Utah region.”
The Legacy Subaru Mitsubishi Jubilee Cup hopes to raise $200,000 for the Life Flight Helicopter. The golf tournament, taking place at Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club and Coral Canyon, will be followed by a dinner and auction at Entrada. Auto Dealer Nominated for Distinguished Ford Motor Company Award
DEARBORN, Mich.,
January 28, 2008
– For his dedicated efforts in creating a lasting and positive impact in the
community, Kirk Bengtzen, President of Legacy Auto Group in Orem, and St.
George, Utah has been nominated for Ford Motor Company’s 2008 Salute
To Dealers award. Chosen from a field of more than 6,000 dealerships
across the United States and Canada, Bengtzen is one of only 65 dealers to
receive this honor.
Salute
To Dealers
is conducted under the guidance of Edsel B. Ford II, a member of Ford’s Board
of Directors. The program was established in 2001 to demonstrate Ford Motor
Company’s commitment to its thousands of dealer principals who improve the
lives of those in need while providing outstanding products and services.
Each
year, hundreds of worthy organizations and thousands of people from coast to
coast reap the benefits of the tireless work of the Ford dealer network. This
year’s nominees have significantly contributed to a range of diverse causes,
from cancer research and hunger relief efforts to youth mentoring programs,
educational scholarships and military support initiatives.
Bengtzen
was nominated for the award because of his generous contributions to the
community, including: The Legacy Auto Group Christmas Wish program which
donates over $200,000 in cash and kind in granting Christmas wishes throughout
the state; his Legacy Auto Jubilee Cup tournament and auction, which, in three
years has raised nearly $1 million dollars for Dixie Regional Medical Center;
and donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
“I’m
honored to be nominated for Salute To Dealers,” said Bengtzen. “Community service is
a core value of mine; I believe all business owners have an obligation to change
the lives of our fellow neighbors and friends when we can, to help improve the
quality of the lives of our employees by giving them service opportunities and
to show gratitude to our community for our success. I am proud to be nominated
with other dealers who feel that way.
“As
the program enters its eighth year, it is quite inspiring to look at the
collective body of work attributable to the many individuals recognized by Salute
To Dealers,” Edsel Ford said. “The commitment of these dealers to
making a difference embodies the spirit of dedicated corporate citizenship; a
foundation on which Ford Motor Company was built and has operated for more than
a century.”
Eligible
dealers included representatives from all Ford Motor Company brands – Ford,
Lincoln, Mercury, Jaguar, Volvo, Mazda and Land Rover. The 2008 nominees were
chosen for exceptional dedication to their communities demonstrated through
volunteer and philanthropic activities, with consideration given to extent of
involvement, length of participation and dealer motivation.
Legacy Auto Group asking community members to
nominate friends and neighbors who have fallen on hard times this year.
November 19th 2007 – Legacy Auto Group kicked off its
annual Christmas Wish program today. The program, which is funded by Legacy
Auto Group dealerships Legacy Mazda in Orem and Legacy Subaru Mitsubishi in St.
George, will run from November 13th through December 24th
2007.
The Legacy
Auto Group Christmas Wish program grants wishes to families throughout Utah who
have fallen on hard times and need help getting through the holiday season.
For Kirk
Bengtzen, Legacy Auto Group president and Christmas Wish founder, the Christmas
Wish program is a vital core of Legacy’s company philosophy.
“The
Christmas Wish program is very close to my heart,” said Bengtzen. “This charity
program is our way of showing our customers how much we appreciate all they do
for us. But it’s also personally important as well. The program helps all my
employees and me get into the true spirit of Christmas - which is priceless.”
The Legacy
Auto Group Christmas Wish program is run by Legacy employees and family members
of employees who volunteer their time to reading letters, shopping for gifts
and delivering presents to families throughout Utah.
For Jeff
Davis, General Manager of Legacy Subaru Mitsubishi, the Christmas Wish program
gives the best gift possible at Christmas: Love. “By answering these wishes, we
are able to give these families more than Christmas presents; we show them they
aren’t alone and that people care about them.”
According
to Bengtzen, the Christmas Wish program in 2007 will help provide Christmas for
nearly 100 families throughout the state of Utah.
